Frente a la visión de ciudad como “recurso”, y no como el espacio de convivencia armónica y civilizada que merecemos, hay mucho que construir y hacer y esto es una tarea conjunta. Este artículo no tendría sentido si no creyera aún en nuestra capacidad para contrarrestar esos atentados a la vida con bienestar y si no creyera que es posible ser escuchada por los ejecutivos del gobierno municipal que, indudablemente, en esta última gestión, nos han dotado de importantes áreas verdes que reflejan sensibilidad con el ciudadano. La Santa Cruz del siglo XX tuvo su plan Techint, calles enlosetadas, Comité de Obras Públicas, cooperativas de servicios, etc.. Iniciando el siglo XXI las realidades urbanas son otras. El crecimiento demográfico trae aparejados otros problemas que a su vez se vinculan con la escasez de espacios abiertos y de interés colectivo: Por qué no atrevernos a nuestro “central Park”; con lagos artificiales; arboledas; canchas; equitación, arte; espacios para niños; espacios adaptados y solidarios para los ancianos y los minusválidos, monumental centro cultural, esculturas; anfiteatros para los recitales y eventos culturales de los jóvenes.
